MY NEW YEAR'S ANGEL

My baby, Noah, will be 2 on Saturday.  When I was pregnant, I was really hoping for a New Year's Baby, but, unfortunately, he did not arrive on the 1st, and I had to be induced on January 2.  I won't bore you all with the terrible labor stories, etc., but after 2 hours of contractions and wondering why on earth I was doing this AGAIN, I was rewarded with a 9 lb. 14 oz. bundle of pure sweetness.

I am attempting to take his 2 year picture here at the house, however, it is proving a bit more difficult that I thought.  The lighting is not just right, and I don't have any studio lights or backgrounds yet, so I'm just using what I have here - natural light.  They are a little dark, so I do some magic in Photoshop, but they look "grainy" to me, so I put some in b&w and sepia.  However, I'm still working on getting a great portrait in the natural light with very little post-processing.  Pray for me :-)   Here are a few I took yesterday, but I'm still planning on doing more this week.  Just wanted to share.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:   I am so happy I'm not pregnant!

  1. Ahhh-sweetie pie!

Oh my-I forgot about him being almost 10 pounds. If it was me I'd have a t-shirt made up that said-I gave birth naturally to a 10 pound baby!

Beautiful pics-I don't think your gonna need to take him anywhere-yours will be better at home!

  2. Ha-good idea on the shirt - Levi was 10 lb. 3.5 oz. He was the toughest. I'm so glad we're not having any more - they say babies just keep getting bigger!
I am going to try some more later this week with him dressed up. Hopefully the light will be better and they will look better. These are fine for scrapbooking, just not to enlarge.

Your snickers salad looks delish. I want to try it sometime when I can share or I'm sure I could eat the whole bowl!
